I'm MASSIMO DI LENARDO and I would like to introduce you my estate , our cellar , our wines and our organization.
So , take your time , relax and ... fly into my world !
The "DI LENARDO VINEYARDS" estate produces quality wines from the grapes coming from its four large properties vineyards of ONTAGNANO (UD) , in the middle of FRIULI region (the far North/East of ITALY) and in its rented vineyards close to AQUILEIA (UD).
So ... phisically the estate and the cellar are located in the famous DOC areas of FRIULI DOC GRAVE and FRIULI DOC AQUILEIA but I always like to say that we're located ... on the moon , because our wines are very particular and their tastes are not typical from the area but are very typical of ... ours !
VIGNE DAI VIERIS , VIGNE DA SAN MARTIN , VIGNE DA LIS MARIS and TIARE D'ALBE are the names of our 4 large vineyards which are reaching as far as around 40 hectares, part of the area of around 150 hectares of the whole estate.
Like I just told you we rented an other 5 hectares of vineyards in the Aquileia doc area , close to the main estate , so the total of hectares worked directly by us are , at the moment , around 45 .
Our family has always cultivated vines in Ontagnano, as proved by historical documents dating back to the early 1800's.
But it was only from the 1987's vintage that quality took a real leap forward in our Company.
The decision to press only the grapes produced by our own vineyards was coupled with new plantings of specially selected varieties, increased density of vines, up to 6000 per hectare, severe pruning, and other actions required in a vineyard to produce quality wines.
The grapes are now picked up strictly by hand, and refined methods of vinification, based on physical principles and electronically controlled temperature during the fermentation improve furthermore the quality of the final product.
And its unique taste !
For our whites we are using all the new technology of the market , which enables us to offer, year by year, the highest quality of the limited number of our bottles and to let us known like the most advanced and "state of the art" cellar in the Grave area.
Since the 1998's vintage the wine-making direction was taken directly by me together with a pool of wine-consultants.
At the moment our Company is known like the best quality-brand in the Friuli Grave area and , like just I told you , the most technically-advanced.
